Unlocking the potential of light-intensity physical activity for public health: a call to action for research

The health benefits of regular physical activity (PA), especially at moderate-to-vigorous intensities (MVPA), are well established. Consequently, MVPA recommendations are a central component of public health guidelines. Until recently, light-intensity physical activity (LPA) was an overlooked area of research in public health and guideline messaging, with an identified need for future research.
