Review Fees
Notice of upcoming fee increases effective September 1, 2026: [downloadable memo]
Review fees support the CHEO REB in fulfilling its mandate. These fees cover the initial and ongoing review costs of all the applications in industry-sponsored or industry-funded research studies. Please note that research supported by public funds (i.e., CIHR) or other granting agencies is not subject to these fees.
The following fee schedule will be applied to industry-sponsored or industry-funded submissions reviewed prior to September 1, 2026.
- Initial Application (Full Board review) – $3000
- Major Amendment (Full Board review) – $500
- Annual Renewal (Full Board review) – $500
Studies undergoing delegated review that are Industry sponsored or Industry initiated will be charged a $500.00 initial review fee.
All REB fees are charged regardless of the level of the outcome of the review.
