Robert L. Myette is an attending pediatric nephrologist and is the medical director of dialysis at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. He is an assistant professor at the University of Ottawa and is a scientist at the CHEO Research Institute. His lab is in the Kidney Research Centre at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute.
The Myette Kidney Research Lab, established in January 2025, is focused on elucidating molecular mechanisms related to nephrotic syndrome (NS) in children. Supported by the CHEO Foundation Research Chair in Pediatric Kidney Disease, and a Kidney Foundation of Canada Kidney Health Research Grant, Dr. Myette’s lab seeks to discover novel biomarkers capable of more sensitive detection of NS, while furthering our understanding of treatment response. The overarching goal of this work is to improve the lives of children and adolescents living with NS.
