Nathalie Lepage

Investigator, CHEO Research Institute

Dr Lepage is a full professor in the department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at theUniversity of Ottawa, Canada. She is the Laboratory Head of the Inherited Metabolic Diseaselaboratory, a division of Newborn Screening Ontario, located at the Children’s Hospital ofEastern Ontario in Ottawa, Canada. She is a fellow from the Canadian Academy of ClinicalBiochemistry and a fellow from the Canadian College of Medical Geneticists. She has beenselected to be the chair of the 2021 organizing committee of the joint Canadian Society ofClinical Chemists/American Association of Clinical Chemistry annual meeting, that will takeplace in Anaheim, California, a meeting with more than 20,000 attendees.

Current areas of clinical and research interests are in method improvement in the field ofbiochemical genetics disorders, and in laboratory management.

    This method shows potential application as a second tier screen in order to reduce the false positive rate for a number of IEM targeted by newborn screening.
