My CHEO Story

My first experience with CHEO was when I was admitted at 16 for my eating disorder. I had spent
the next 2 years in their care. I am so thankful for all the help I received from all the doctors, nurses, CYC’s and child life care specialist as a patient in there inpatient program. Without them, I wouldn’t be here. Now, I am in full recovery thanks to their help. I am now part of the Family Advisory Committee at CHEO as well as fundraising regularly for their mental health program. My long admissions spent at CHEO and the experience with the amazing staff inspired me to pursue a career in paediatric nursing.

Why I'm involved

I believe research plays a huge role in improving health care, especially when it comes from patients
and families. As someone who was experience under CHEO’s care, I believe I can be a great asset and
give important insight as a Family Leader. I am thrilled to have this opportunity to make a valuable impact in the lives of other patients & families.
