Canada’s Top 40 Research Hospitals 2020, published today by Research Infosource, ranks the CHEO Research Institute 25th nationally with 10% growth, despite COVID-19.

“To be able to maintain our position on this prestigious list given such a tumultuous year affirms our resilience as an organization,” said Dr. Jason Berman, CEO and Scientific Director of the CHEO Research Institute, Vice-President of Research at CHEO. “Our researchers and support staff were nimble and pivoted to engage in highly impactful translational COVID-19 research, while at the same time sustain their regular research programs. It has been an extremely challenging year, but I am incredibly proud of what CHEO researchers have accomplished.”

CHEO researchers compete for public funding to fuel more than 600 current studies across the hospital, 35 of which are COVID-19 related. We are also incredibly grateful for community donations through the CHEO foundation; every dollar donated to research at CHEO is leveraged four times by granting organizations.
