Catherine Dulude

Investigator, CHEO Research Institute

Ms. Dulude has been an embedded human factors practitioner and researcher at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario since 2011. She applies human factors and design research methods to optimize service delivery and integration of new technologies and software to optimally support clinical care, provider workflows, patient-provider interactions and patient, family and healthcare provider experiences. Ms. Dulude led human factors analysis and device strategy for implementation of the hospital’s enterprise-wide electronic medical record and automated medication dispensing systems, participates in safety investigations, workflow, process and space design, working with front line staff and multi-disciplinary teams to understand requirements and co-design solutions. During the COVID-19 pandemic Ms. Dulude focused on the rapid development and evaluation of virtual care services. She is currently working with clinical researchers on tools to support evaluation and continuous improvement of virtual care.
