My CHEO Story

When I was eleven years old I was diagnosed with type-one diabetes. CHEO gave us an education, a home, and an amazing support system. The team at the diabetes clinic gave us impeccable care for the seven years I spent there. I was able to take part in studies, explore volunteer opportunities, and generally feel connected, supported, and safe. CHEO gave me the best possible care for my disease

Why I'm involved

I think activism and awareness are both incredibly important. Support for amazing care systems like CHEO is critical. People everywhere deserve great medical care, and stepping up and shining a spotlight on hospitals, diseases, and the people who help us navigate medical complications helps to ensure that happens.
